CD02: Aspartame's "Inevitably... Hesitation"
released: 11/04/2024
After two long years, Aspartame have returned with a follow up to their self-titled EP. “Inevitably… Hesitation” packs 5 tracks with a refreshing modern take on the emo sound. Hearing the band refine these songs at their live shows had us in high anticipation for this release, and they surely did not disappoint.
Catchy melodic guitar passages, soft spoken anxieties, and raw heart wrenching bursts of emotion, are just a few of the flavors to be found here. We haven’t stopped listening since its release and are so excited to be able to help with its physical release.
(The original self-titled EP is also included on the B-Side of this release)

CD03: Memoria - "Memoria"
released: 02/21/2025
“Keep me from brittle endings”
Texas screamo band, Memoria ,deliver 4 songs full of unrelenting catharsis with their debut EP. Showcasing a strong blend of bittersweet melodies and stuttering feedback soaked riffs that define their sound. Every song rises from the broken pieces of the last, making them sometimes feel as though they could fall apart at the exact moment when the band unleashes another beautifully intense or melodic riff to keep your head banging.

CD04: Skipper - "4 demonstrations of skipper"
released: 02/21/2025
“Foresight, mourn me blind”
There is something special in the way Skipper writes their songs. Every moment is full of distortion and urgency, yet somehow manages to be so comforting. This dynamic makes their music feel like they have something important to say that they just can’t keep bottled up any longer.

CD05: No Fooling - "No Fooling"
released: 05/27/2025
“I’ll dance when the lights are off and no one is around…I’ll sing as long as no one is there to hear the sound”
As the hot days of spring and summer start to stamp out the cold days of winter times, scenes of a less divided time start to come to mind. When seeing a chaotic screamo act right along side amazing melodic hardcore and punk was a usual affair. At the start of C86’d, we hoped to merge the adjacent scenes of punk and hardcore with the vibrant screamo scene we saw erupting. Now, with the release of NYC’s No Fooling, we are attempting to do that with our physical output as well.
No Fooling’s melodic hardcore rides a fine line that bridges the gap between fast hardcore and pop punk - vibes we haven’t felt for what seems like a lifetime. Complex songwriting, singalong choruses, at times blistering speed, and even chain punk grunts here or there all wrapped up in a blast of melodic intensity. No Fooling cover a lot of ground in just under thirteen minutes & it makes you want to eke out every last bit of sun from the day. A release that’s been on repeat on our speakers since its January release & we are so happy to have the physical release come out as C86’d # 05.

CD06: She Chose Violence - "I Will Fade Into Nothing."
released: 05/27/2025
She Chose Violence formed right around the time we started to discuss C86’d Fest last year, and was one of the first bands to sign on to our fundraiser for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. SCV was the culmination of lots of people throughout various parts of the NYC hardcore & punk scenes featuring members of Ultra Deluxe, Fear Not Ourselves Alone, Tonsil Hockey, mirrorxlake, and Mineshaft.
Musically SCV take on hardcore is somewhere rooted in late ‘90s emotional & chaotic hardcore and modern screamo. The cassette features the band’s two singles - moshy, almost stomp worthy, drum beats, paired with melodic guitars that at times are reminiscent of indie rock and shoegaze if you had had the occasional panic chord. The dual male/female vocals give their music urgency covering both high and low tones. Emotionally driven hardcore that burned so bright that it couldn’t last - but some songs that will be forever close to our hearts.
FFO: To Dream of Autumn, Crowning, Welcome the Plague Year, Funeral Diner
